About this policy
This cookie policy explains how Smart RPE Solutions Ltd uses cookies and similar technologies on this website. It sits alongside our privacy notice, which explains more broadly how we handle your personal data.
A cookie is a small text file that a website stores on your device. Cookies do things like remember your choices and help the site owner understand how the site is used. We keep our use of them to a minimum.
The cookies we use
We use only a small number of cookies and similar technologies. The table below lists each one, who sets it, what it does, and how long it lasts.
| Name | Set by | Purpose | Type | Expires |
|---|---|---|---|---|
smartrpe-cookie-consent | This website | Remembers whether you accepted or declined analytics and advertising cookies, so we don’t ask again. Stored in your browser’s local storage, not sent to us. | Strictly necessary | Until you clear it |
_ga, _ga_<id> | Google Analytics | Helps us understand how visitors use the site (for example which pages are most popular) so we can improve it. Only set if you accept analytics cookies. | Analytics (optional) | Up to 2 years |
_gcl_au | Google Ads | Helps us measure when a visit from one of our Google ads leads to an enquiry, so we can see which ads work and spend our advertising budget wisely. Only set if you accept advertising cookies. | Advertising (optional) | Up to 90 days |
_GRECAPTCHA | Google reCAPTCHA | Helps protect our contact forms from spam and abuse by telling real visitors apart from automated bots. | Security | Around 6 months |
Because Google Analytics, Google Ads and Google reCAPTCHA are provided by Google, Google may also set a small number of its own additional cookies when these services run. These are controlled by Google and may change over time; you can read more in the Google cookies notice.
Analytics cookies — your choice
When you first visit, we ask whether you’re happy for us to use analytics and advertising cookies. We only set them if you choose “Accept”. If you decline — or don’t choose — no cookies are set, and the website works exactly the same either way.
When cookies are declined, Google’s tools may still receive anonymous, cookie-free information (for example that a page was viewed or an enquiry was sent) which Google uses to produce aggregate, estimated statistics. This does not identify you or store anything on your device. This approach is known as Google Consent Mode.
If you accept, we use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used. Your IP address is anonymised. Google acts as our processor for this. We measure our advertising separately — see “Advertising — Google Ads” below. You can withdraw your consent at any time by clearing this site’s cookies in your browser (see “How to control cookies” below).
Security — Google reCAPTCHA
To protect our contact forms from spam and abuse, we use Google reCAPTCHA. For it to work, reCAPTCHA runs across the site and may set a cookie and collect information about your device and activity to tell real visitors apart from bots.
We consider this necessary to keep the site and our inbox secure. Google provides this service to us and also uses the information collected for its own security purposes. That use is governed by the Google Privacy Policy and Google Terms of Service.
Advertising — Google Ads
We advertise our services on Google. To see whether those adverts are working, we use Google Ads conversion tracking. When you accept advertising cookies, it lets us know when a visit that began with one of our ads leads to an enquiry — so we can measure which adverts bring in genuine interest and spend our budget sensibly.
We only set these cookies if you choose “Accept”. If you decline, no advertising cookies are set. This tells us that an enquiry came from an ad; it is not used to build a profile of you on this site. Google provides this service and its use of the information is governed by the Google Privacy Policy.
How to control cookies
You are in control of cookies and can manage them in a few ways:
- Change your analytics choice. Clear this site’s cookies in your browser and reload the page — the consent banner will appear again so you can choose afresh.
- Block or delete cookies in your browser. Every major browser lets you block or remove cookies in its settings. Search your browser’s help for “cookies” to find the controls. Note that blocking some cookies may affect how parts of the site work.
Changes to this policy
We may update this cookie policy from time to time — for example if we add or remove a tool. When we do, we will revise the “last updated” date shown at the top of this page.
